Design Story

The composition is centered and architectural. The clock face sits high on the circle as the primary focal point, its aged parchment dial and Roman numerals catching the warmest light in the whole design. Below, the pendulum case opens into shadow where a pale figure and two small glowing points hover behind the glass. Deep oxblood woodwork, burgundy drapery and cold blue window light create the tonal contrast, while cracked stone slabs fan outward toward the edge and settle the subject into the floor plane. A thin gold filigree border traces the perimeter against a near-black rim, closing the scene like a frame.

Room & Styling

As a round rug the artwork reads as a single medallion rather than a repeat, so it wants open floor around it.
