Design Story

The composition is strictly vertical and symmetrical. A crimson roundel sits high on the deep navy field, ringed in gold and holding the Jayhawk emblem \Uffffffff beak forward, feet mid-step, but rendered as a heraldic device rather than an action figure. Beneath it, the typography descends in scale and importance: "UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS," then "KANSAS JAYHAWKS" in the largest weight, then "EST. 1865," and finally a small "LIMITED EDITION" plate near the base. That hierarchy does the work. Acanthus scrollwork in gold and oxblood fills the surrounding space without crowding the focal panel, while a chevron band cinches the lower third and resets the eye. Navy carries the mass; gold carries the light.
